Several of these pictures were never published on my old site, so I figured I might as well make this a new post that is not back dated to a time close to where the pictures were originally posted.

Packard Plant Trip 4 produced some fairly unremarkable night shots before we retired to The Pyramid and had a nice campfire with old pallets and the oil-soaked wooden blocks that covered the floor of the Packard. The smell of my clothes the next day…holy shit. When I woke up the next morning I was desperate to put all of the clothes I wore that night into a garbage bag which I wouldn’t open again until I got home. Unfortunately, it was cool and I needed the jacket I was wearing. It was not great.

This was my last trip to the Packard, and I was shooting with my Fuji X-Pro 1. We arrived fairly early (the Packard was usually the last stop of the day to party and hang out) and I was able to get some pictures of the graffiti and other features of the ground floor, which was fantastic. I also have some excellent pictures and video of some hijinx that we got up to on this visit…maybe I will post those some day.

I don’t know what else I can say about this place. It was magical. It was completely lawless. Despite being extremely empty, it was one of my favorite places to photograph. It was also my favorite place to hang out and drink and even barbecue at the end of a long day of exploring. I consider it the home of the broader group of exploring friends I had…it was our center of power.
